Having discounted the Angel Hotel in Westgate Street as a venue, we are now considering Portland House in Bute Street, Cardiff Bay. However, even if this is found to be suitable, there is no longer time to organise a festival there this year.

The committee welcomed the initiative of Cardiff Council in publishing a list of 71 pub/club buildings in the city’s suburbs they would seek to protect. It was emphasised that this would not necessarily involve their preservation as working pubs/clubs, in fact some had already closed, but it was seen as a move in the right direction.
